Do you know how the food of the future is grown, from which all TIGERNUT products are made?

We have been focusing on health for a long time, and three years ago, we discovered the forgotten superfood, TIGER NUT. Tiger nut is a tuber that is completely allergen-free and offers numerous health benefits for the body.

This ingredient was used for its healing properties in ancient Egypt and is still grown in Africa today. However, the tiger nuts produced in Africa are hard, less nutritious, and contain undesirable substances from uncontrolled agriculture.

In the 18th century, tiger nuts began to be cultivated in Spain, in the area north of Valencia. Its organic cultivation ("green" farming) is controlled by the Chufa de Valencia council. This council issues certifications to farmers, confirming that tiger nuts with this origin designation are guaranteed to come from organic and fair trade agriculture.

We therefore searched for growers in Spain and found the best one – a family company that has been dedicated to the cultivation and processing of tiger nuts for three generations. The tiger nuts are grown organically. To provide the highest quality, we also peel the tiger nuts, making them softer, tastier, and more nutritious.

It is precisely the quality of the peeled tiger nuts from Valencia that allowed us to experiment with various recipes, and we eventually created several lines of unique tiger nut-based healthy food products, which are a global rarity.

How Tiger Nuts Are Grown:

  1. Growing organic tiger nuts is very challenging. No chemical pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers are used.

  2. The plant needs a lot of sunlight, and while it matures, it forms tiger nut tubers underground.

  3. The harvest is collected in late autumn or sometimes winter, depending on the weather.

  4. The tubers undergo a thorough washing process to remove dirt and roots in several washing lines.

  5. The tiger nuts are moved to natural drying chambers, where they are ventilated and turned daily.

  6. Thanks to the slow drying process, which lasts up to six months, the special flavor of Valencian tiger nuts is achieved.

  7. Finally, all the tubers undergo thorough manual sorting. The highest quality and flavor are ensured through the process of peeling the bitter skin.

  8. CHUFA DE VALENCIA – the origin designation guarantees the highest quality.

All TIGERNUT products are gluten-free, and most are also lactose-free (vegan) and contain no added sugar. Their consumption benefits both healthy and sick individuals alike.

All TIGERNUT products are made in Slovakia. We have our own production facility, which allows us to control technological processes and the consistency of the quality of our products. We use only the highest quality raw materials for their production. All products are free from any artificial stabilizers, preservatives, emulsifiers, or colorings and aromas.

Most TIGERNUT products are vacuum-packed in glass, ensuring the preservation of quality and preventing unwanted processes (such as mold formation) that can occur with standard plastic packaging. Our customers appreciate being able to see the real product and its quality through the clear glass, and we also consider the environment, as glass packaging is recyclable.
